徐奎栋，男，1969年生，研究员，博士生导师，中国科学院大学岗位教授，海洋生物分类与系统演化实验室主任。现中国海洋与湖沼学会底栖生物学分会理事长，国际海洋生物多样性信息系统(OBIS)执委，国际标准化组织ISO/TC 008/SC 13/WG 04委员，World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS) 编委及中国节点负责人，国际真核微生物领域两大SCI主流期刊：Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology副主编 (2018-2021)、European Journal of Protistology编委 (2011-)

主要从事海洋生物分类、生物多样性与进化研究，发现了百余个海洋新物种；创新了海洋底栖生物调查手段，发展了从近海到深海的微型和小型底栖生物生态学以及真核微生物群落结构与多样性研究。近年来主要开展深海海山生物多样性研究，多次作为科考首席科学家，组织了西太平洋海山的多学科综合探测，较系统地开展了海山的生物多样性研究。现主持科技部科技基础资源调查专项、国家自然科学基金重点项目等重大项目多项。已发表研究论文近200篇，含SCI收录101篇；Springer专著一部，国内专著4部；作为主要起草人制定国家标准一项、海洋行业标准一项；获多项奖励。
