主要从事地幔柱、板块重建、岩浆和气候耦合作用相关研究,聚焦新特提斯洋演化历史、大洋缺氧事件与弧岩浆作用、地幔柱喷发的动力学过程等,取得的代表性成果如下:(1)系统限定了新特提斯洋的演化历史,提出新特提斯洋俯冲对华南的影响持续到晚白垩世;(2)揭示了大洋缺氧事件对弧岩浆性质和成矿的影响;(3)提出一个新的地幔柱头正在夏威夷形成。已发表论文75余篇,其中第一/通讯作者论文18篇,论文总被引2000余次,H-index指数19,作为客座编辑在SCI期刊组织专辑2部。
