Industrialization of Sci-tech Achievement

As a major marine science research institute of CAS, IOCAS is dedicate to promote the transformation and application of its research results to benefit the development of local economy and society. The cooperation with local governments and industries is based on the principle of “Consolidate Basis, Widen Scopes, Elevate Levels, and Achieve Greater Outcomes”. As a example with these technical transfers, a high high-tech efficient mariculture system has been established which includes 16 marine industrial centers in coastal regions in China. In marine pharmaceutical research, 4 new drugs have been certificated. In marine technology, a series of research activities have been conducted in marine hydrology, geology, corrosion protection, harmful algae bloom prevention and treatment, pollution monitoring, and technical integration. The cooperation with local government and industries not only benefited their economic development and profits but also raised the reputation of IOCAS nation-wide.
